    Management of rental property

    We recently moved overseas and decided to let our property. We thought we had found a reputable real estate agent namely H&R Perry in Mandurah, Western Australia. Things were fine for the first few months. The tenants paid their rent on time and peace and love reigned over our world. WARNING! WARNING! This of course, did not last. The agent who was looking after our property left the company and somebody forgot to tell US. The lease had elapsed and the tenants had not been asked to renew it. The gardens (which we were paying to be cared for) were neglected and when we requested a property report, we received half a page. The replacement property agent was pleasant enough but was absent for over a week and finally left without enlightening us about the state of our property and the renewal of the lease. By this time we had had enough and demanded to speak the property manager. He assured us all our concerns would be addressed. Of course they were NOT addressed. He just passed the ball to another subordinate who then simply ignored our "cries for help." We finally decided to sell the property and this time we did get a response. The agent told us how fortunate we were not to have agreed to a fixed term lease. My husband then attempted to rip her throat out through the phone. The tenants left, we have no final inspection report and we had to pay to clean and prepare the property for sale.
