Just surprised - by real estate response | Please Help Experts ???

Can an ex-owner leave property I'm moving in messy state, where in the kitchen benches are dirty & lounge rooms have dirty all over the floor and the recyclable bin is all full and no room for me as a new owner - no room to put garbage in & real estate has no obligation to make sure the property is clean, prior to handing in keys.

When I  informed the real estate agent, of this scenario, there response was that, I should contact the council for garbage collection & about cleaniness of the house, I should have discussed this on the final inspection day. What a crap????

     Any suggestions or ideas????

Well Jazzy, (here in WA anyway) a property is deemed to be taken "as inspected". I personally have been selling real estate in WA for 14 years. Most sellersdo the right thing and clean up prior to Settlement, but to assist a smooth Settlement, I have over the years, mowed lawns, paid for professional cleaners, paid for mowing contractors and in one case, actually gone home, grabbed a mop and bucket and scrubbed floors and cleaned the oven for a distraught buyer!!! I feel your agent was being a harsh rough on you and I think the pay cheque was more important to him/her than repeat/referral business.
